What is WORKs?
WORKs is a program that helps farmers, ranchers, and their families to make a transition from farming and ranching to non-farm employment.
How do I qualify?
Farming or ranching is your primary occupation and you intend to make a transition from farming or ranching as your primary occupation.
The farm has been negatively affected by current economic conditions.
You must be at least 18 years of age.
Meet certain financial guidelines.
How can WORKs help?
Help with mileage and child care while you attend classes or look for employment.
Provide employers with a monetary incentive to hire you for on the job training, so you may earn a salary while learning a new career.
Help pay for tuition and books for training.
Assess your skills and strengths.
Locate jobs in your area.
Provide assistance in applying for a job.
We work with colleges, community colleges, truck driving, welding and other skilled trade schools.
